Amanda Doughty designs & makes contemporary jewellery for men and women.
Well known for her geometric, architectural inspired work using bold forms and hidden precious stones, Amanda sells through a small number of shows in the UK, although works mainly to commission.
She lives and works in Brighton UK, having set up her business at Cockpit Arts, Holborn, London in the early 1990’s.
These pieces are available to purchase from the collection, please call Amanda for further details.
Earrings on the bench – a small sample of the collection – I have a wider selection in silver & also 18ct gold available.
Classic, signature Amanda Doughty single bangle. Silver with heavily plated and textured 22ct gold inside.
The rich inside gold reflects Amanda’s fascination with hidden details. Glimpses of the gold are seen when it’s worn.
Piled on the bench is Amanda’s Brutalist collection, available in earrings and brooches. It echoes her love of pattern, repetition and of course architecture. Its the angled tiled effect that Amanda really loves here, predominantly made from really thick round wire, machine made forms, sliced up.
This collection draws on my life long love of round and hollow forms. Signature geometric shapes which have been key to my work throughout my career. The hollow circle – this time with a splash of coloured stones – emerald, sapphire, ruby and of course diamond.
This collection is hand made from square chenier, carefully sliced and constructed to form unique geometric patterns. They are seen here on the jeweller’s traditional bench peg used support the metals forms during fabrication.
Love this video from some special clients…
This lovely video made by clients, Yann and Hannah, shows us in my studio working on the texture of their handmade wedding rings. My studio is on the 4th floor of Phoenix Brighton and has great views across the city. You can catch glimpses of my tools and objects of inspiration that I have around me.
Each commission is different, it was important for Yann and Hannah to be a part of the making process.
